A vaccine against Salmonella infections in pigs was registered (24. 10. 2019)

A vaccine against Salmonella infections in pigs developed under the project NAZV QJ1210115 at the Department of Immunology of the VRI in cooperation with Bioveta a. s. was successfully registered in 13 countries of the European Union, including the Czech Republic.

The uniqueness of the vaccine lies in the use of inactivated antigens, so there is no risk of transferring the vaccine strain to other animals or humans. Another major advantage is the development of a diagnostic method allowing serological differentiation of vaccinated and infected animals using patented antigens.

The vaccine is available under the name  Biosuis Salm in Bioveta a. s. for field application.
